Lady Annie Nicolson was the wife of Sir Arthur TBR Nicolson and wrote a remarkable diary every day, giving details of life at Brough and in Fetlar generally. The remaining pages date from 1902 and continue into the 1920s. This photograph of Lady Annie Nicolson shows how high the trees once were at Brough Lodge. There is no longer any trace of them but local plans to renovate the house include plans to reinstate the gardens.
